A little history about Mifero!
It all started in August of 1964!
The license to start its operations, was ceded to Miguel Fernandes da Rocha, my father and founding partner!
This license authorized a workshop for braiding (elastic and laces). The address was Rua Sá e Melo, n º 868 Gueifães Maia, and that happened to be the address to our family home!

Besides a spinning machine and two old braiding machines, which is how the production of cords and rubber bands begun, two shuttle looms were also purchased, with which were produced many thousands of yards of fabric, primarily for luggage and shoes!
It is obvious of course, that the weaver was my mother, Mrs Primavera Mimosa!

My brother Fernando, was almost starting primary school at this time and so the day was divided between work, study and play! The "subidouro" friends were always present, Toni, Mingos and Manel amongst others. The "Forest" was usually the meeting point! The years passed on and the small workshop expanded, more machinery and workers, and in the meantime my sister Alice was also born!

In 1991, I was surprised by the decision taken by my father and my brother, to form a limited company, which was to be called Mifero - Passamanarias, Lda., and its partners ..., the whole family!
At this time I was working outside the family business, doing an "apprenticeship" in multinational companies and this experience was crucial to the rest of my life! After about 10 years, I decided to go back and help in the growth and revitalization of Mifero!

The facilities were already very limited to house all investments made, and so it was decided to build new facilities, providing a better sentry into the XXI Century!
In September 1997, the new and existing installations were inaugurated, having an area of about 1650 m2, of which 1200 m2 are covered, located in Rua dos Salgueiros, No. 654, in Milheirós Maia!

Today, we still continue to produce trimmings and woven goods, and despite the uncertain times in the sector, with all the bankruptcies and relocations in the sector, we are still a growing business!
The present times demand a different and new perspective on this business,with more flexibility in adapting to the present market, we are also determined to bring to an end a tradition in the company to sell only to the domestic market.

- Resources - We understand that the Resources placed at our disposal are scarce, limited and expensive and therefore should be used with great care!
